Buying for a padel player can feel risky. Rackets are personal (weight, balance, shape), shoes depend on foot shape and surface, and most players already have strong opinions about both. The good news: plenty of gifts don't require you to know any of that. Here's a practical guide by budget, including a few things we don't sell.
Small gifts (under €20)
- Balls. Padel balls lose pressure fast, and regular players get through tubes constantly. Make sure they're padel balls, not tennis balls (they look similar but have lower pressure).
- Overgrips. Players replace them often. Neutral colours are a safe bet.
- Wristbands and a headband for players who sweat through long evening matches.
- A padel mug or a funny card referencing their favourite excuse. Low cost, high recognition.
Mid-range gifts (€20–€50)
- A padel t-shirt with an inside joke. No technical knowledge needed, just their usual size. The best ones reference moments every player knows: the golden point at 40–40, the after-work match under floodlights, the drink afterwards. Our Golden Point tee, 8PM Sessions tee and Padel al Sol Barcelona tee were drawn for exactly that.
- A tote bag for everything else. Racket bags get crowded. A sturdy tote for the towel, water, spare shirt and snacks gets used every week. Try the Post-Match Vermut Club tote.
- A racket protector or edge tape, which helps protect the frame from scrapes off the glass and floor.
- A booked court. Pay for a session and invite three friends: probably the most appreciated gift on this list.
Bigger gifts (€50+)
- Lessons with a coach. A small-group class or a few private sessions help at any level, from beginners to seasoned club players stuck on their bandeja.
- A racket, but only with input. If you go this route, ask what they play with now, or give a voucher from a padel shop that lets them demo rackets.
- A padel trip. Spain is the obvious destination: courts are everywhere, and you can book public clubs as a visitor.
What to avoid
- Tennis gear labelled as "padel". Tennis balls and tennis shoes aren't ideal on a padel court.
- A surprise racket chosen on looks. It's like buying someone glasses.
- Anything with a club or pro's logo unless you know they're a fan. Padel players are loyal to their own club.
Picking a t-shirt size
Our tees are unisex, regular fit, sizes S–2XL. If you're unsure, check the size guide on the product page and go with the size they wear in a standard cotton tee. Size up if they like a relaxed fit. Each piece is printed on demand, so allow production time plus shipping (see the FAQ for estimates by region) if you're buying for a birthday or the holidays.
The short version
Consumables (balls, grips) are always useful. Experiences (court time, lessons) are the most memorable. A good-looking padel t-shirt or tote that gets the joke sits nicely in the middle. You can browse all our padel t-shirts and accessories, and if they're new to the sport, send them our beginner's guide to padel rules too.
